And I'm back again in a 75...

And I'm back again in a 75...

True love lasts for ever :-D ... They may be right! After selling my last Classic SE CDT, the Alfa and the Tucson didn't do it for me, too basic and not very spacious for the 147 JTD, though near enough power to make it and very warm hatch, it's a very entertaining car to drive, the Tucson, well, it was good for the winter and now gone. I've put the Alfa on ebay but no luck so far apart from a couple of time wasters.. Well, it's ebay. Now, back to AX54""" was reg'd Feb 2005, lovely Connoisseur SE CDTI 131PS manual, fairly low miles at 100K, I believe in BRG with charcoal piped sandstone leather trim, and my first ever wood/leather steering wheel, it's such a different sensation... Love it, we went to Restoration Classic cars last Saturday at the NEC, near 300 miles fae "sunny" Glasgow, a real pleasure, got to M6 toll, a good pedal to the floor saw near 120 and overall, apart from the roadworks, I was feeling happy with the car responsive engine and a 75-85 was the easily kept and the journey was comfy, the sound quality from speakers is poor compared to Alfa's Bose system , I'll need to upgrade the speakers for travel to France... Project drive made disastrous damages to the overall quality of the car, seems noisier than the 2003 I had before, the spec is not as good as the 52 Connoisseur 1.8 L I had, no computer, cruise, multi-cd and the wood looks fake!!! At least, the chrome's still there, the forked alloys complement the less retro look of the MKII very well, though once again, 16" is a step backward, and the Serpent I had on the 1.8 were superb, again maybe more suited to the MK I.. My neighbours in their boring silver or black german tins are looking at the car with envy/lust, one complemented and went on "I had one years ago, lovely to drive, pity thy're gone..." Anyway, she's in need of a service and I think the egr is on its way, she's a bit slow and reluctant to rev then suddenly it darts, a bit like an old 80's turbo car, It's good to be back in a 75!!!!
Any one in Scotland ?

welcome back to 75.as for the sounds mine still has the so called poundland speakers in mine and they sound fine to me.but mine has a bm54 powering them.a lot of the sound quality has to do with the head unit.and as you no cruise etc can be retro fitted if you have the wiring in place.may be also worth unplugging the maf to see if that makes and difference to the performance.as for the wood it looks fake because it is.sadly
ztt the pampered one no longer with me.now replaced with bessie the conny .bmw 16.9 bm54 bmw hybrid tv .bmw bluetooth.

Yes, I'm thinking MAF as well. I once had a replacement part that was clearly faulty, and gave the symptoms just like you said. Not all of the wood is fake though is it? The steering wheel is real as far as I know.
